How to Play

Learn how to play Pro Disc Fantasy and compete with friends!

Basic Concept

Pro Disc Fantasy lets you draft and manage a team of professional disc golf players. Compete against other managers in your league based on your players' real-world tournament performance.

League Play

Join an existing league or create your own. Invite friends or join public leagues to compete against other disc golf enthusiasts.

Scoring System

Players earn points based on their per-hole score and tournament performance. Points are awarded for finishing position, bogey-free rounds, and birdie streaks, and more.

How to Win

Teams in a league are ranked according to total fantasy points earned for each tournament. Teams earn a win for each opponent they outscore. The team with the most wins at the end of the season is champion!

Getting Started

1. Create or Join a League

The first step is to either create your own fantasy disc golf league or join an existing one:

  • Create a League: Set up your own league and invite your friends to compete.
  • Join a League: Jump into a public or private league. Compete with other disc golf fans from around the world or join a group of friends for some friendly competition.

2. Draft Your Team

Once you're in a league, it's time for the snake draft:

  • You and your fellow league members will take turns selecting players from the Disc Golf Pro Tour.
  • Your goal is to build the strongest team by drafting players based on their skills, consistency, and potential to score points in real-life tournaments.
  • Can't make the live draft? We'll auto-draft the best available players for you based on prior year's rating.

3. Set Your Lineup

Each week, you'll need to set your lineup:

  • Choose the players you think will perform best in that week's event. Only the players in your starting lineup will earn points.
  • Use your knowledge about player performances, course types, and even weather conditions to make the best selections.

4. Score Points Based on Real-Life Performance

Your players earn fantasy points based on their actual performance in real Disc Golf Pro Tour events:

  • Aces, birdies, and eagles earn big points.
  • Consistency matters too! Players can rack up extra points with bogey-free rounds or streaks like three birdies in a row (a "turkey").
  • Tournament finishes impact your score as well, with bonuses for top 10 finishes and podium placements.

5. Compete and Win

  • The goal of the season is to accumulate the most wins in the All-Play format.
  • Each event is a full league matchup, where your team competes against every other team in your league based on total fantasy points scored.
  • Fantasy points translate directly to wins and losses—if your team scores the most points in a given event, you go 5-0 in a six-team league; if you finish 2nd, you go 4-1, and so on.
  • Your total wins over the season determine your standing in the league, with the team accumulating the most wins at the end being crowned champion.
  • Track your progress on the leaderboard, compete for weekly victories, and make every round count toward your season-long record!

Event Multipliers

In Pro Disc Fantasy, we recognized the extra significance of major tournaments. To better reflect the pressure and performance required in the later rounds of marquee events, fantasy points earned after the cut are multiplied based on event tier:

  • DGPT+ Events: Post-cut points are multiplied by 1.25x
  • Playoff Events: Post-cut points are multiplied by 1.5x
  • Majors: Post-cut points are multiplied by a massive 2x

That means your players will need to show up when it matters most. Stack your lineup with finishers—because the deeper they go, the more they score.

Why We Score It This Way

The Pro Disc Fantasy scoring system mirrors the ups and downs of tournament play, making it fun and engaging whether you're a disc golf pro or a casual fan!

Hole-by-hole scoring:

At Pro Disc Fantasy, we designed our scoring system to reward great play and make sure that every shot counts. Aces, eagles, and birdies bring the biggest rewards because they are some of the most exciting and skillful plays in disc golf. Pars still matter, though, and allow consistent players to rack up points over time.

And to keep things competitive, we penalize poor performance—every bogey or double bogey can hurt. What we don't want to do is punish blow-up holes too severely. One Tin Cup hole won't ruin your whole event. The more exciting plays the better!

Round and Event Bonuses:

We've also included performance bonuses to recognize outstanding rounds and streaks, ensuring players who go on hot runs get rewarded.

Elite+ and Major Multipliers:

With the addition of Elite+ event and Major multipliers, players are incentivized to focus on putting out the best team possible for the most important events of the DGPT season. These multipliers ensure that performances in the highest-level tournaments matter most, making your fantasy league more exciting when the stakes are at their highest.
