Northwest Championship Recap & The Pros Head to Sweden!
Complete breakdown of Northwest Championships results and preview of Ale Open
🏆 Northwest Championships Recap
The DGPT+ Northwest Disc Golf Championships presented by Latitude 64 delivered the drama and the fantasy points this weekend. Split across two iconic courses in Oregon, the four-round event featured early fireworks at Milo McIver's Riverbend Gold and a climactic finish at Glendoveer East in Portland. The final round carried a 1.25x fantasy point multiplier, making Sunday's performance a big swing factor in fantasy leagues.
MPO Division Highlights
Gannon Buhr stole the show (sort of), pulling off a stunning win with a clutch birdie-birdie finish on holes 17 and 18. He racked up 222 fantasy points, claiming top honors for the weekend. This was his second win on the DGPT this year - the exact same pace as last year's historic year.
Other Top Performers:
- Kyle Klein: Surged in round 4 with a blistering -10 final round, earning 98 FP in the final round alone and finishing with 218 FP — second only to Buhr. He came just one stroke shy of forcing a playoff.
- Anthony Barela: Led most of the way on the final day and dropped a ridiculous -12 in round 3 at Glendoveer, closed out the weekend with 207 FP. Three disappointing misses in C1 on the final 7 holes - two of them unobstructed and within 20 feet - may haunt him but we are sure he'll be back on top asap.
- Ezra Aderhold: Stormed back from a brutal 18 FP in round 1 to post 78 FP in round 4, totaling 170 FP — a great sign of form after a shaky European trip.
- Ricky Wysocki: Rounded out the top 5 with 157 FP, narrowly edging out Luke Taylor.
FPO Division Highlights
Holyn Handley was in a class of her own:
- Fantasy Points: 246 (highest across both divisions)
- -8 final round (105 FP)
- Third in season-long fantasy value
- Trails only Buhr and Barela
Other Top Performers:
- Missy Gannon: Continued her strong season with 183 FP. Missy has seemed inevitable for the past few weeks - no shape off the tee too complex, no putt too long - but she couldn't quite find the groove this weekend.
- Paige Pierce: Finished with 172 FP after a steady four-round showing. Paige loves Portland and Portland loves Paige. She's proving to be back to form this year.
- Jennifer Allen: Kept pace with her elite distance and finished fourth with 141 FP. Jenn Allen has been a top 10 FPO fantasy threat in each of the three events she has played this year on tour.
- Catrina Allen: First ever ace on tour, the completely blind hole 15 at Milo on day 2, helped her earn 135 FP and the fifth spot.
📊 Fantasy Analysis
MPO Surprises
Notable Performances:
- Nate Sexton: At his first tour appearance of the year, Sexton came back to the site of his infamous Glendoveer cash streak loss and finished top 10 in fantasy points with 145 FP. A massive performance for the home-state legend.
- Paul Ulibarri: Just days removed from jetlag and long-haul travel, Uli looked sharp at Milo McIver, ultimately finishing with 145 FP, good for 11th overall.
- Paul McBeth: Just 5 FP off the fantasy lead after two rounds, McBeth's wheels fell off in round 3. A +5 front nine at Glendoveer pushed him out of contention. He finished the weekend 83 FP behind Buhr, illustrating just how up and down his 2025 has been.
FPO Surprises
Breakout Stars:
- Taylor Chocek: The Oregon native pieced together her best event of the year, finishing 7th in fantasy points — a huge surprise in just her second cash on tour in 2025. A breakout moment in front of a home crowd.
- Kat Mertsch: After making it to the lead card, Mertsch only scored 11 FP in the final round, despite the 1.25x multiplier. That's well below the FPO round 4 average of 34.67 FP. A fantasy heartbreaker for her managers.

Working Hard On: 🏁 Registered Player Icon: Leading into the Konopiště Open in the Czech Republic many pros dropped or registered in the couple days just before the event started. Many of these changes occurred after we logged the Registered Player data resulting in many inaccuracies in this feature. We are very sorry for the errors this caused. Please note, while we are working on fixing this, the League Commissioner is able to manually edit team lineups even after a tournament starts. We know this is far from ideal and are working hard to improve the accuracy of this feature and ensure it is consistently giving a reliable indication of which Pros are and are not registered for the upcoming tournament. As always, we appreciate those who reached out to us noting this issue.
